BIO

Vuyolwethu Dubese is an Inspiring 50 nominated African millennial in media and technology exploring Open Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Intelligence and Business Development. With a focus on African technology and entrepreneurship, the intent is to be a part of the ecosystem and organisations driven to develop the African lives and the narratives that are shape shifters in how Africans and the world perceive the continent, particularly how we engage the 4th Industrial Revolution or Africa 4.0.  At present she serves as a Startup Partnerships Lead for Africa for Thomson Reuters (Data and Innovation) Labs which looks at how we to leverage open innovation to partner with startups and scale the company’s proof of concepts. In the company, she is also the lead of the women committee in Corporate, Responsibility and Inclusion and part of the Employee Advisory Board.  She obtained a Higher Certificate in Brand Building Practice at VEGA School of Brand Leadership, and now through UNISA, is in her first year of obtaining a BCOM in Business Informatics qualification. Dubese is also one of the three black women directors serving on GirlHYPE, which is a South African non-profit company that has been teaching black girls how to code since 2004, and to this day has impacted over 13 000 young women. I'm responsible for building the community and ecosystem development for Thomson Reuters Labs - Cape Town across Sub-Saharan Africa through startups, partner and customer relations.
